George "David" Dunson

Chico, Texas ~ George David Dunson, 65, went to be with our Lord Sunday, May 21, 2023 in Decatur, Texas.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27th, 2023 at Paradise Methodist Church in Paradise, Texas with burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie, Texas. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas.

Doug Fox will officiate.

David was born on August 13, 1957 to George Howard and Patsy Jeannine (Lee) Dunson in Uvalde, Texas. He was united in marriage to Alicia Elliott on July 15, 2006 in Denton, Texas. David was a pastor for over 30 years serving Methodist Churches in North Texas. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and a friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Howard and Patsy Jeannine Dunson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Alicia; 2 sons, Brandon Dunson and wife Denise and Travis Dunson and wife Jacqueline; 4 grandchildren, Kamryn Lang, Gentry, Kyson, and Jaylen Dunson; his sister, Kirsten Raines and husband Darrel; his brother, Nathan Dunson and wife Shona; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
