Newark ~ George William Eanes Sr., 72, a retired facility maintenance engineer, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in Chico.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with burial in Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Rev. Wayne Karr will officiate. Pallbearers include Bradley Crumley, Brett Crumley, William Kennedy, Luther Eanes, George William Eanes Jr., Bo Buchanan, and Cassie Windham.
George was born on August 15, 1947 to Joseph Luther and Mary Alice (McKinney) Eanes in Lubbock, Texas. He was united in marriage to Ruby Charlene Byrd on February 23, 1991 in Arlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Sean Eanes; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; and his granddaughter, Madelynne Pittman.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Charlie Eanes of Newark; his daughter, Kimberely M. Crumley of Newark; 4 sons, Donald B. Prince and wife Stacy of Newark, Joseph Luther Eanes and wife Alma of Azle, George William Eanes Jr. of Azle, and William Oliver Kennedy III of Newark; 10 granddaughters; 3 grandsons; numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
