George Alfred Idell

Rhome ~ George Alfred Idell, 98, went to be with our Lord Thursday, April 15, 2021.

Graveside is 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2021 at Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

George was born October 20, 1922 to James Henry and Mazy (Elliott) Idell in Rhome, Texas. He was united in marriage in 1946 to Dorothy Lucille Bell in Kennedy, Texas. George proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was retired from the construction business as a pipefitter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Lucille Idell; his 4 brothers, Henry Nathan, Robert Eugene, James Joe, and Charlie Aaron; 3 sisters, Willie May, Louella, and Nancy Mirinda.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Linda McGee of Arkansas; his 3 grandchildren, Steven McGee, Michael McGee, and Julie McGee; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
