George Virgil Parsons, 97, a farmer and rancher, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 10 a.m. Thursday, Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur with Rick Ross officiating. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Virgil was born January 23, 1911 in Bonita, Texas to J. E. and Adelia (Brawner) Parsons. He married Lela Welch on August 30, 1979 in Decatur and was married 20 years at her death in September, 1999. He was a long time member of the Decatur Church of Christ.
Left behind to cherish his memory are members of Adelia's family and a host of cousins and friends.
