George was born on June 1, 1938 to William and Georgia (Smith) Smith in Boyd. He was united in marriage to Rose Anne Matthews on January 1, 1995 in Fort Worth.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Alice Simpson, Bernice Lisby and Opal Goldman; and his son.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, Rose Anne Smith of Boyd; his sons, Joe Hamil of Honolulu, Hawaii, Tommy Smith of Bowie, and Shane Smith of Keller; his daughter, Cindy Hamil of Fort Worth; his sister, Sharon Chapman of Boyd; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
