Richmond~ Georgia Ruth Cleveland Morris, 88, went to be with our Lord on Friday, November 19, 2021 in Richmond, Texas.
Funeral Service will be 1:00pm Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Cottondale Church of Christ with burial to follow at Cottondale Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00pm Monday, November 29th, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.
Georgia was born in Cottondale, Texas to Omar and Zula Cleveland on May 27, 1933.
In February 1951 she met the love of her life Roy Hulen Morris and married him 5 months later on July 14, 1951. They were married for 64 wonderful years and during that time they welcomed two daughters, Janice and Sheri.
After raising her girls, she started her career at Paradise Independent School District as a secretary to the principals for over 20 years. After her retirement from PISD she joined her husband working at Hawkins Funeral Home for 15 years. Her favorite pastime was quilting. This was her excuse to make anything dealing with fabric, she was always up for it. Some of her quilting philanthropy was piecing together bucket hats for children at MD Anderson and quilt tops to raise funds for Rwanda Children’s Home in Africa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brothers Grover and Gerald Cleveland.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janice Knight and husband, Paul of Sugar Land, and Sheri Neeley and husband, Mark of Round Top; her grandchildren, Erin Wessel and husband, Jared of Trophy Club, and Taylor Knight and wife, Rachel of Katy; her great-grandchildren, Rhett and Reagan Wessel, and Ethan Knight; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and a host of friends.

Georgia Ruth Morris was a loving wife, beloved mother, adoring grandmother and great-grandmother who was a selfless and faithful friend to countless people.
