Gerald Wayne Bishop

Runaway Bay ~ Gerald Wayne Bishop, 79, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in Decatur.

Graveside is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.

Gerald was born on April 18, 1944 to Gerald Herschel and Mabel Elaine (Johnston) Bishop in Yukon, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Becky Cavender on April 21, 1979 in Arlington. Gerald owned his own swimming pool company and he proudly served our country in the United States Navy for 20 years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and a friend to many that will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Mabel Bishop; and his sisters, Carolyn Wallace and Janice Adams.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Becky Bishop; his children, Shannon Canaday and husband Garry of Nash, Oklahoma, Scott Bishop and wife Melody of Arlington, Tanya Bishop of Richmond, Virginia, Tiffany Kinne and husband Jared of Lake City, Colorado; 7 grandchildren, Laurel, Levi, and Luke Schnaithman, Hannah Reid, Austin and Holden Bishop, and Penelope Kinne; 5 great-grandchildren, Darwin, Elaina, Jinora, Ariella, and Ripley; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
