Rhome ~ Gerald Arthur Borsheim, 85, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in Decatur.
Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Aurora Baptist Church. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Rev. Jimmy Withers will officiate.
Gerald was born on September 5, 1931 to Alva and Ida (Owen) Borsheim in Decorah, Iowa. He was united in marriage to May Jeanette Bell on September 19, 1959 in Waterloo, Iowa. Gerald was a retired machinist with John Deere. He was a member of the Aurora Baptist Church. Gerald was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Gerald served his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, May Borsheim of Rhome; his daughter, Teresa Barton and husband David of Rhome; his grandson, David Barton Jr. and wife Amy of Rhome; his great grandchildren, Kennadee and Ganyn Barton of Rhome; his brothers, Al Borsheim of Lacrosse, Wisconsin, Donnie Borsheim of Lacrosse, Wisconsin, Kenny Borsheim of Lacrosse, Wisconsin; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Memorials may be made to Aurora Baptist Church Youth Camp.
