Gerald "Gerry" Fippinger

Chico ~ Gerry Fippinger, 90, went home to be with our Lord Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in Decatur.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Burial is 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.

Pastor Emory Cheek will officiate.

Gerry was born on July 7, 1929 to Arthur and Helen (Hohensee) Fippinger in Elmhurst, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Londot on August 26, 1950 in Maywood, Illinois. Gerry loved music and worked as a Jr. High Band Director.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Barbara Fippinger Sitton; brothers, Art Fippinger and Ron Fippinger.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 70 years, Phyllis Fippinger of Bridgeport; 3 sons, Don Fippinger and wife Donna of Bridgeport, Bruce Fippinger and Carol Kay of Santa Maria, California, Dale Fippinger and wife Melissa of Baytown; his grandchildren, Jeannine Powers and husband Alan, JoAnn Cheek and husband Emory, Julie Hurtle and husband Steven, Janet Sutherland and husband Duane, Jonathan Fippinger and wife Adreane, Karen Barker, Russ Sitton and wife Crystal, Jonathon Sitton, Zach Fippinger and wife Paula, Morgan Fippinger and wife Mai, Steven Fippinger, and Lauren Shanks and husband Nick; 34 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol Fippinger of Castle Rock, Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
