Decatur: Gerald Lee Polley, 64, of Decatur went to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 16, 2008 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Coker-Hawkins Chapel with Ric Ross officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery following the service. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Scott Polley, Mike Polley, Jeff McGraw, Paul Mauck, Jimmy Hicks, and Kelly Young.
Gerald was born April 25, 1944 to Frank Oliver and Mary (Thornton) Polley in Dallas, Texas. He married Cheryl Ann Jennings on February 14, 1964 in Dallas, Texas. Gerald was a member of the Decatur Church of Christ.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Cheryl Polley of Decatur; son, Brent Polley and wife Kristi of Starkville, Mississippi, Clint Polley and wife Amy of Oak Point; 5 grandsons, Seth, Brandon, Caleb, Christopher, and Jacob; brothers, Henry Joe Polley of Duncanville and Charles Polley of Purmela.
Gerald is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Polley on August 15, 2008 and his parents.
