Gerald "Jerry" Louis Konecny

Gerald “Jerry” Louis Konecny,80, went to be with our Lord on Friday, January, 15, 2021 at his home in Decatur, Texas. There will be a private Memorial Service at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Jerry was born July 22, 1940 to William & Frances (Heitzman) Konecny in Fort Worth, Texas. He served in the United States Army during the 1960’s and was stationed at Camp David, Maryland. Following his military service he attended the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at Arlington. On June 29, 1974 Jerry was united in marriage to his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Sue Renshaw of Decatur. They spent the next 31 years as the owner and operator of Renshaw Seed, Greenhouse, and Landscaping in Decatur retiring in 2005.

Jerry is survived by his wife Carolyn, brother Jim Konecny and wife Lisa of Weslaco, Texas, sisters, Joan Hope and husband Ron of Abilene and Joyce Brown and husband Mark of Austin, numerous nephews, nieces, and many friends.

The family request memorials be made to the Wise County Historical Society, 1602 South College, Decatur, Texas.
