BRIDGEPORT -- Gilbert Lee Shawn, 72, a retired lease operator for Mitchell Energy, died Sunday, June 17, 2007 in Ft. Worth.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Wednesday June 20, 2007 at East Bridgeport Cemetery with the Reverends Mike Miller and Johnny Irish officiating.
In lieu of flowers: Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Bridgeport Building Fund.
Mr. Shawn was born Dec. 19, 1934 in Bridgeport, TX to Gilbert E. and Velma Quillian Shawn. He married Glenda Sue Williams Aug. 14, 1954 in Amarillo, TX. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, the father that raised him, Raymond Shawn and his brother, Raymond Shawn, Jr. Gilbert was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport.
Survivors: His loving wife of 52 years, Glenda Sue Shawn; His daughter: Vicki Smith of North Richland Hills Grandson: Joshua Lee Smith His brother: David Shawn and wife Connie of Runaway Bay His sister: Teri Goss and husband Ronnie of Alvord Several nieces and nephews
