Gladys Thelma (Forbes) Sewell

Boyd~ Gladys Thelma Sewell, 81, a retired nurse, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in Boyd.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Rev. Phillip Weitner will officiate.
Gladys was born on October 8, 1934 to Jeron and Myrtle (O’Neal) Forbes in Wolfe City, Texas. She was united in marriage to Delton Sewell on October 4, 1952 in Fort Worth. They moved to Fort Worth in 1952 where Gladys attended nursing school at All Saints Hospital graduating in 1972. Gladys worked for 18 years at Richland Medical Center as a nurse and instructor. She taught child birth classes at Richland Medical Center. Gladys and her husband volunteered at Haslet Fire and Rescue and the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed numerous hobbies including square dancing, camping, gardening, fishing, sewing, and raising three boys. Gladys is a loving mother, wife, and angel to husband, Delton of 65 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Maritta Etnridge; her brothers, Joe Frank Forbes and JW Forbes.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, Delton Sewell of Boyd; her sons, Delton Sewell, Jr and wife Patti of Boyd, Steve Sewell of Boyd, and Phillip Sewell and wife Shelly of Springtown; her grandchildren, Cody Sewell, Liberti Sewell, and Jordan Brinkman; her sister, Laurah Cummings of Fort Worth; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
