Glenda Faye Anderson

Chico ~ Glenda Faye Anderson, 82, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in Chico.

Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 14th, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial at Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Michael Wiltcher to officiate. Pallbearers are Rick O’Dell, William O’Dell, Chad O’Dell, Lucas O’Dell, Joshua Chesnut Carter, and Jack Haney. Honorary Pallbearers include Scout Carter and Kade O’Dell.

Glenda was born on January 20, 1942 to John C. and Ruth (Johnston) Haney in Chico. She was united in marriage to Wiley R. Anderson on August 29, 1969 in Chico. Glenda worked as a seamstress at Haggar Slacks in Bowie and was a sales clerk and associate at Walmart for 20 plus years.  She had many hobbies including, playing cards and dominos, quilting, camping, canning vegetables; and she loved all sports and hunting. Glenda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to many that will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Robert Chesnut; her siblings, Louise Weatherly, J.C. Haney, Donald Haney, and Harold Haney.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Wiley R. Anderson of Chico; her children, Tony Chesnut and Regina Moody of Crafton, Beverly O’Dell and husband Rick of Chico, Sandraw Williams of Chico, Lorene Cox of Mineral Wells, and Judy Anderson of Chico; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
