Alvord: Glenn William Boyers, 64, passed away of natural causes, Tuesday, October 5, 2010 in Decatur.
Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, October 16th at New Vision Ministries in Alvord with Apostle Quint Burks officiating.
Glenn was born August 4, 1946 in Joplin, Missouri to William Francis and Ada Louise Jones Boyers. He married Darla Ruth on December 1, 1990 in Irving, Texas. Glenn was a steel detailer for Watson-Boyers & Associates for 27 years. He was a charter member of New Vision Ministries.
Glenn enjoyed many years of bass and striper fishing, golf and bowling. He loved life and his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and was "one cool Paw Paw". Glenn will be missed by many.
Survived by wife of 19 years, Darla Boyers of Alvord; three daughters, Maria and Marnie Boyers both of Mesquite, Persephone Shelley and husband, Matthew of Irving; son, Quint Burks and wife, Cherri of Alvord; 10 grandchildren: Ashley Vasquez, Brandi Medders, Jennifer Vasquez, Austin Shelley, Amber Glenn Vasquez, Drew Burks, Ryan Shelley, Jason Burks, Mason Shelley, and Katie Boyers; great grandchildren, Clay and Destiny Medders and Landon Shelley; God Child, Joey Howard; brothers-in-law, Gary Presley, Skip Matthews, Tim Matthews and wife, Jan; sister-in-law, Cheryl Matthews.
