Burleson ~ Glenn E. Harrell, 87, went to be with the Lord January 7, 2019. He fought a long courageous fight against Parkinson’s disease.
Funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019, at First Baptist Church Springtown with burial in Garvin Cemetery in Boyd. Family will receive friends 1-hour prior to the service at the church.
Rev. Hal Kinkeade will officiate. Pallbearers include Robert Brown, Tommy Mann, Clint Brown, Josh Mann, Dylan Brown, Kris Thompson, John Davis, and Don Martin.
Glenn was born on March 2, 1931, to Thomas “Tom” Lewis and Leona Myrtle (Cowling) Harrell in Ennis, Texas. Right out of school he married the love of his life, Lorene Mayer on June 2, 1951 in Haslett, Texas. Glenn loved his family, friends, and his country as we all loved him. He proudly served our country from 1950 to 1954 in the United States Air Force. Glenn retired from the government. He also loved gardening, country living, and raising cattle on his mini ranch. Glenn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Springtown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, William Harrell, and Gene Harrell; his sisters, Maureen Hayes, and Louise Watson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 67 years, Lorene Harrell of Burleson; his daughters, Debbie Brown and husband Robert of Burleson, and Donna Mann and husband Tommy of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Clint Brown, Lynsie Thompson and husband Kris, and Josh Mann and wife Cami; his great-grandchildren, Dylan Brown, Kinsler Thompson, Lincoln Thompson, Landri Mann, and Lilah Mann; his sister-in-law, Doris Overstreet; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
