Gloria Ann (Busey) Welch

Gloria Ann Busey Welch, 94, of Dallas, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, August 4th, 2024.

Gloria was born September 25th, 1929 to George Catlett and Mary Ruth (Christal) Busey in Ft. Worth, Texas. She was a graduate of The University of Texas where she was a member of Alpha Phi Fraternity.  She was united in marriage to the late Albert Bergen Welch in 1964.

Gloria was an active member of Prudence Alexander Chapter DAR, The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America, the Huguenot of Manakin of Virginia, Lakeside Browning Club and The John Chew Chapter of Daughters of the American Colonists.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many who will dearly miss her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Diane Welch Byrd and husband D. Harold Byrd III of Dallas; her son, Charles Albert Welch of Mobile, Alabama; grandchildren, David Harold Byrd IV of Dallas, Tiffany Byrd Cook and husband Tower of Dallas; extended family and a host of friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at The Plaza at Edgemere and to Silverado Hospice.

Internment will be held at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Decatur.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Organization.
