CHICO -- Gordon G. Brown, 83, a retired maintainer operator went to be with our Lord on Sunday, December 28, 2008 in Decatur.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Graveside: 3 p.m. at Morgan Cemetery in Morgan, Texas. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate. Pallbearers: David Brown, Johnny Brown, Tony Wood, Jimmie Austin, Clarence Wood, and Monte Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers: Ray Bennett, Robert Bachhofer, Lee Watts, and Blue Brown.

Gordon was born on November 26, 1925 in Whitney, the son of Marion G. and Maude (Stanley) Brown. He served his country during WWII with the U.S. Navy Sea Bees. He married Alice Marie Watts on April 6, 1978 in Durant Oklahoma. Gordon was a member of the Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Reno.

He was preceded in death by his son, Johnnie Glen Brown and a grandson, Christopher Hendricks.

Left behind to cherish his memory is: his wife of 30 years, Marie Brown of Bridgeport; daughters, Helen Wallace and husband Clarence of Chico, Johnetta Allred and husband Scott of Springtown; sons, David Lee Hendricks and wife Shirley of terrell, Eddy Hendricks and wife Pam of Georgia, Lynn Hendricks and wife Dee Ann of Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, Carla, Brad, Michael, Tracy, Chad, Jennifer, and Paula; and 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
