Gordon L Lovell

Decatur ~ Gordon L. Lovell, 98, went to be with our Lord Saturday, December 8, 2018, in Decatur.

F uneral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Gerre Joiner will officiate.

G ordon was born on September 14, 1920, to Earl and Mattye (Monday) Lovell in Commerce, Texas. He was united in marriage to Peggy Faye Taylor on July 2, 1941, in Lubbock, Texas. Gordon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Gordon was a member of the Wise County Veteran’s Group.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Peggy Lovell in 2011; and 2 brothers.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Donald Lovell and wife Lynn of Utah, Gary Lovell of Decatur; his grandchildren, Michael, Robyn, Xondre, Ly, and Rae; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 2 nieces and 2 nephews; and a host of friends.
