Grace "Betty" (Engelman) Pemberton

Bridgeport ~ Grace “Betty” Pemberton, 91, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at the church.
Dr. Craig Erb will officiate. Pallbearers include Travis VanHoose, Matthew VanHoose, Chance Pierce, Richard Pierce, Jeremy Pierce, Pete Davidson, and Payton Pierce.
Betty was born on August 13, 1924 to John and Luella (Arnsmeyer) Engelman in Nashville, Illinois. She was united in marriage to R. M. “Jiggs” Pemberton on February 20, 1946 in Nashville, Illinois. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son in law, Phillip Pierce; her brothers, Bill Engelman and Jack Engelman; her sisters, Belene Anderson, Ilene Pratt, and Mamie Krouss.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Betty Ann VanHoose and husband Travis of Bridgeport and Kathy Pierce of Chico; her granddaughter, Angela VanHoose; her grandsons, Richard Pierce and wife Deidra, Matthew VanHoose and wife Julie, and Jeremy Pierce; her great grandchildren; Payton Pierce, Chance Pierce, Ashton VanHoose, Travis C. VanHoose, and Jackson VanHoose; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
