Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Joplin. Burial: Joplin Fairview Cemetery. Family to receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Reverends Billy Earl Rhone and Loury Drue Nero will officiate. Pallbearers: Chris Kotrlik, Henry Erwin, Regulo Martinez, David Tanner, Jimmy Vestel, and Stephen Mock.
Gracie was born on November 13, 1921 to Joseph Henry and Jessie Hall Erwin in Joplin. She attended and graduated from Joplin school. Gracie married Joe W. Tanner, Jr. on December 7, 1939 in Jacksboro. After the war, Joe and Gracie moved to the Graham area where they lived for thirty years.
Joe preceded her in death in 2004. Also preceding her were her seven brothers: Coy, Fred, Bert, Charlie, Herman, Thurman and R.B., and one sister, Letha Bell.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her seven children, in whom she delighted, four daughters and three sons: Joann Bishop and husband Bob, Bonnie Carol Allin, Mickey Johnson and husband Orvel, Judy Kotrlik and husband Joe, Gary Tanner and wife Bennie, Bill Tanner, and Mike Tanner and wife Donna. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 10 great grand children and 7 great great grandchildren, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
