Greggory Don Monk, 58, of Arlington, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 with family at his side.
Greg, who was raised in Arlington, Texas loved life to its fullest. He made people feel loved when he entered the room with a smile, contagious laugh and warm personality.
Greg was loved by all who knew him as well, because of that strong character trait. He proved that you don’t have to have material things to give to be loved, something our mother taught him throughout his life. Greg loved to fish and also was a “Jack of all Trades and Master of None”-“If he could make a Buck, He’d do it”.
But Greg’s strongest love of life was helping others. He always made sure that if you were in need, he would find a way to help. His greatest passion was to make sure our seniors never went without, and made sure they knew they were loved unconditionally.
Greg is proceeded in death by his father, Bobby Gene Monk; and his mother, Dorothy Rae Monk of Arlington.
Greg is Survived by his sister, Rebecca Lynn Truex and her husband Ron Truex of Arlington; his brother, Jeffrey Lee Monk and wife Kathy Jo Monk of Joshua; Ricky Heagerty of Little Rock, Arkansas; his nieces and nephews; Shaun Truex, Ashley Truex and Alex and Dani Truex, Nikole Monk, Joshua Monk and Katharine Schmitt and Husband Colton Schmitt; his great-nephew Grayson Schmitt and his unborn brother on the way; his extended aunts and uncles as well as many cousins and lifelong friends….
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18th, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial to follow in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
