Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8th at Victory Baptist Church in Park Springs, Texas with Reverend Mark Autry officiating. Interment will be in Brushy Creek Cemetery, Alvord, Texas. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Pallbearers are Chad Horner, Danny Horner, Nathan Paul Horner, Nathan Scott Horner, Timothy Horner and Jayson Horner. Honorary pallbearers are Jeffrey Todd Horner, George Cunnis, Mark Jones and David Jones.
Guy was born in Decatur on February 2, 1923 to Cecil Guy and Clara Margaret (Cunningham) Horner. He married Oleta Wright of Slidell on December 6, 1946. Guy served in WWII in the Merchant Marines. He was a retired dairy farmer, a devoted husband and an obedient servant of the Lord.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Oleta Horner of Alvord; five sons, Richard Horner and wife Lanora of Paradise, Mike Horner and wife, Charlotte of Decatur, Nathan Lynn Horner of Alvord, Pat Horner and wife, Sherry of Alvord, Jeff Horner and wife, Rhonda of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Chad Horner and wife, April of Decatur, Danny Horner and wife, Julie of Paradise, Timothy Horner of Paradise, Nathan Paul Horner and wife, Nikki of Alvord, Ashley Campbell and husband, Delvon of Decatur, Nathan Scott Horner of Decatur, Jayson Horner of Chico, Lynnsey Horner of Wichita Falls, Nikki Horner of Decatur, Murphy Horner of Alvord, Whitney Horner of Alvord, Jeffrey Todd Horner of Ocean Side, California and Shae Horner of Bridgeport; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Joy Smith of Alvord; brother, Travis Horner and wife, Rilda of Lake Fork, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
