Gwendolyn Joyce Dunn

Azle~ Gwendolyn Joyce Dunn, 86, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 28, 2022 in Azle.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial to follow in Thomas Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Rev. Mike Edmundson will officiate. Pallbearers are to include Jason Worthen, David H. Dunn IV, Tristen Dunn, Jason Johnston, Brandt Johnston, Cole Schock, Vance Johnston, Travis Worthen and Reed Johnston.

Gwen was born on December 10, 1935 to Elmer and Juanita (Hicks) Reed in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to David Henry Dunn Jr on August 4, 1955 in Ft. Worth, Texas and together had 44 wonderful years until his passing on July 13, 2000.  Gwen led by example; her faith and values never wavered. She showed us how a marriage should be, and what love really looked like. Gwen was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a special needs teacher, a caretaker, an amazing baker, an artist, a very talented quilter, and had quite the green thumb. Gwen will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Henry Dunn Jr; and her brother, Robert Reed.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, her daughter, Cheryl Worthen and husband Tim, her son, Mark Dunn and wife Stephanie, her son, David Dunn III and partner Lonnie Henington all of Azle; her grandchildren, Jason Worthen and wife Kimberly, Amanda Johnston and husband Jason, Amelia Schock and husband Cole, David H. Dunn IV and wife Mallory, Madison Dunn, Tristen Dunn and Kyle Craig and wife Melissa; her nine great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
