Alvord: Hal Glendell Buie, 80, a retired welder, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, December 13, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 19th at the First Baptist Church of Alvord with Reverend Bill Cleveland officiating. Interment: Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Mr. Buie was born July 3, 1932 in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was united in marriage to Shirley Jeanette Anderson in 1952 in El Paso, Texas and was married 50 years at her death on March 27, 2003.
Mr. Buie retired from Texaco Refining in El Paso as a welder after 28 years of service. He moved to Alvord in 1992 where he worked as a self-employed welder for mechanical contracts.
Mr. Buie served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alvord since 1992 and was Chairman of the Deacons.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his four (4) sons, Joel Buie and wife, Jackie of Crowley, Donald Buie and wife, Shanna of Idaho, Hal W. Buie and wife, Muriel of Everman, and John Buie and wife, Terrie of Joshua; daughter, Jeanette Roberts and husband, Mike of Grand Prairie; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Hoyl Alexander Buie of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
