Harold Arthur Gentry

Paradise ~ Harold Arthur Gentry, 93, a retired farmer and rancher, went to be with our Lord Sunday, September 8, 2019 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Cottondale Baptist Church in Cottondale with burial at Cottondale Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Rev. Charles Pugh will officiate. Pallbearers include Chris Miles, Bryson Gentry, Jacoby Gentry, Zane Lasater, Chase Lasater, Brody Gentry, and Dike Read. Honorary pallbearer is Cody Gentry.

Harold was born on August 14, 1926 to James Issac and Theresa Patricia (Bridges) Gentry in Cottondale, Texas. He was united in marriage to Imogene Niblett on March 26, 1949 in Weatherford. Harold was lifelong member of the Cottondale Baptist Church and agriculture producer for his community. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his grandson, Cody Gentry.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Theresa Norman and husband James, and Letha Lasater and husband Gary both of Paradise; his sons, Wally Gentry and wife Binky, and Jimmy Gentry and wife Gail both of Paradise; his brothers, Doug Gentry, Don Gentry, and Willard Gentry all of Paradise; his sister, Gay Read of Paradise; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
