Harold Lee "Slick" Petty

Aurora ~ Harold Lee “Slick” Petty, 86, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Aurora.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Art Blanton will officiate. Pallbearers include Bobby Don Taylor, Roy Rosson, Shawn Taylor, Jeremy Odom, Chris McEver, and John Taylor.

Harold was born on August 14, 1934 to Thomas and Maggie Jane (Worlow) Petty in Johnson County. He was united in marriage to Gracie Lee Ralph on April 14, 1978 in Fort Worth. Harold proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 40 years, Gracie Petty; 2 brothers, Weldon Ray Petty and Bill Petty; and his sister, Linda Petty Stewart.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lauren Taylor of Oklahoma, Peyton Taylor of Oklahoma, Glenda Moore of Saginaw, and Brenda Rosson and husband Roy of Newark; his grandchildren, Alysia Scheppke, Rick Taylor, Robin Angel-Taylor, Bobby Don Taylor, Shawn Taylor, Crystal Reina, Candace Rosson, Carrie Wright, and Kelly Moore; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; his sister, Evelyn Peacock; his brother, Marion Petty; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
