Decatur: Harrell Waldon White, 85, a truck driver, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013 at Oaklawn Cemetery with Pastor Charles Taylor and Rev. Gerre Joiner officiating. Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include David Cordero, Tommy Bishop, Dennis Whitfield, Ronnie Bishop, Gary Wilson, and Darrell Wilson.
Harrell was born May 11, 1927 in Greenwood, Texas to Elisha D. and Laura Lee (Wilson) White. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Ruth Dempsey on January 13, 1945 in Decatur, Texas. Harrell was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and a past member of the Wise County Sheriff's Posse. He served in U.S. Army during WWII.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Bonnie Ruth White of Decatur; son, Paul White and wife Lahoma of Fort Worth; daughter-in-law, Mary White of Decatur; 5 grandchildren, Chris White and wife Tressie of Decatur, Brandi White and husband Jason of Stillwater, Beth Turner and husband Jon of Arlington, Kim Owen and husband Steven of Spring Hill, Tennessee, and Kandy Butz of Brownwood, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren, Kelby, Calvin, Kaleb, Colton, Harrison, Audrey, Maxwell, Cheyenne, Sarah, Lauren and Samuel; sister, Margie Wilson and husband Wayne of Decatur; other family members and a host of friends.
Harrell was preceded in death by his son, Leon White; brothers, Alvin D., Jesse, and Herbert White; sisters, Bonnie Wainscott, Faye Bishop and Alene Crunk.
