Aurora ~ Harriett Elizabeth Smart Moorman, 78, a loving mother, grandmother and friend went to be with our Lord Monday, December 5, 2011 at her home.

A fellowship gathering with the family is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, 540 S. Allen Street (FM Road 730 South) in Boyd.

Memorial service will be scheduled in the spring.

Harriett was born September 25, 1933 to Ernest and Elizabeth (Bower) Smart in Westchester, New York. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Boyd and was a singer in the choir. Harriett was a loving and generous person to all she met, and would try to rescue stray animals that crossed her path. She was a loyal and devoted sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous for over 25 years.

Harriett was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Lawrence Moorman; and her twin brother, Ernest Smart.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Elizabeth Post and husband Robert of Davis, California; her granddaughter, Katie Post of Davis, California; her sister, Shirley Koustmer of Vero Beach, Florida; several nieces and nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
