Aurora ~ Helen Christen Derting, 89, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Friday, May 12, 2017 in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Aurora Baptist Church with burial at Crawford Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Crawford, Texas. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Rev. Jimmy Withers will officiate.
Helen was born on January 4, 1928 to Calvin and Novie (Ellis) Burns in Emhouse, Texas. She married Beverly Gene Derting on July 4, 1946 in Streetman, Texas. Helen was a member of Aurora Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Derting; her brother, Ray Burns; and her sister, Hazel Anglin.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons; Steve Derting and wife Janet of Aurora, Brian Derting of Aurora, Curtis Derting of Aurora, and Kevin Derting and wife Melissa of Leander; her grandchildren; Stephen Derting and wife Jennifer of Azle, Josh Derting and wife Rachel of Azle, Beverly Derting of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Amy Christman and husband Troy of Kirksville, Missouri, Elizabeth Luscomb and husband Winfred of Concord, North Carolina, Jennifer Derting of Grand Prairie, Erica Jensen and husband Cory of Leander, and Lauren Derting of Kansas City, Missouri, Brent Carter and wife Lori of Aurora and Brad Carter and wife Deneen of Bedford; numerous great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and other relatives and a host of friends.
