Decatur: Helen Lorrine Ewing, 61, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2009 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 21st at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Johnson officiating. Interment will follow service at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends and family from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Larry Dalton, John Greene, Herschel Box, Jimmy Ragan, Michael Waites, and Will May.
Helen was born on May 24, 1948 in Belen, New Mexico to John Alonso and Gladys Ruth (Murphy) Graham. She married George Colvin Ewing, III on December 17, 1973 in Durant, Oklahoma. Helen retired in September 30, 2008, as a government contract specialist and material purchaser.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 35 years, George Ewing of Decatur; daughters, Debra Waites and husband, Michael of Watauga, Maria Bowman of Dawson, Texas; son, Jeff Ewing and wife, Cynthia of Buckeye, Arizona; three grand daughters, Tiffany Ewing, Miriah Waites, Amber and Michelle Jones all of Watauga, and Felicia Ewing of Dawson; great granddaughter, Loriann Jones.

To the family of Helen Ewing, I am so sorry to hear of your wife and mother passing. Helen and I work near each other in different departments, at General Services Administration. I knew her as a very caring and loving person. We spoke often in passing and we centered our conversations on our children. I still miss her presence.
