Helen Elizabeth Christine (Caldwell) Stephens

April 22, 1920 — February 4, 2016

Helen Elizabeth Christine Caldwell Stephens, 95, of Boyd, went home to Eternal Glory February 4, 2016.

Graveside service is 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Frankston City Cemetery in Frankston, Texas.

Bro. Keith Camp will officiate.

She was born April 22, 1920, in Copeville, Texas.  She will be remembered for her love of God, her dedication and devotion to her family, and an impish grin that let us all know she was ready for mischief.  Christine lived history, always ready with a story from her life as she bore witness to the Dust Bowl, the Great Depression, and her travels as a war-time bride during World War II.  She was an administrative supervisor of admissions at Parkland Hospital, in Dallas, Texas.  She was working there the day President Kennedy was assassinated.  Her vision and insight, on the world both past and present will be held close to our hearts and deeply missed.

Christine was preceded in death by her mother and father Maybelle Denton and John Bryant Caldwell, four of her brothers, JT Caldwell, George Caldwell, Bill Caldwell, and Dick Caldwell, by her son Eldridge Grant “Dunner” Fincher, Jr., and by Danny Harrison, husband of surviving granddaughter Amy Harrison, and father to great granddaughter Helen Elizabeth “Betsy” Harrison of Galveston, Texas.  She is also survived by her daughter, Cindy Jennings of Boyd, Texas, grandson Trey and his wife Sandy Gannon with their children Cayla Brooke, Abigail Rose, Rebekah Laurel, and Rachel Dawn of Bluff Dale, Texas, granddaughter Jessica with husband Andrew Stephens of Haslet, Texas, granddaughters Gay Brand Pollard and Mollie Brand Hatten, her friend and caretaker Donna Bombonati of Boyd, Texas, brother Jack Caldwell and sister Dorothy Tate, and many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
