Bridgeport ~ Henry Eual Jenkins Jr., 94, a pumper, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Bridgeport.

Rev. Sam Caldwell and Rev. Jerry Galloway will officiate. Pallbearers include Brad Bettis, Taylor Everett, Chase Chapman, Darrell Harwell, Davy Duncan, and Lance Petty.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home.

Henry was born on August 7, 1922 to Henry Sr. and Georgia (Bethune) Jenkins in Electra, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Henry was united in marriage to Bobbie Wooster on June 24, 1947 in Holliday, Texas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport. Henry was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his grandson, Brian Scott Van Dusen.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Marilyn Jenkins Van Dusen of Bridgeport; his son, John Henry Jenkins and wife Sonya of Shephard, Texas; his grandchildren, Michael Ray Van Dusen and wife Sarah, John Keith Jenkins and fiancée Jamie, Kyle Thomas Jenkins and wife Chelsey, Steven Chad Prater and wife April, and Stormi Michele Gonzalez and husband Eric; his great grandchildren, Adam, Paul, Gaven, Delanie, Kyler, Jett, Presley, Trenton, Taya, Hailey, Rayne, and Jax; other family members and a host of friends.
