Newark ~ Henry Oran Jones, 83, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, November 15, 2022.
Funeral service is 10:30 AM Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur, Texas. Graveside service is 9:30 AM Wednesday, DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM on Monday at the funeral home chapel.
Rev. Doug Acklie will officiate.
Henry was born March 8, 1939 to John S. and Lillie Bell (Pixler) Jones in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage February 19, 1960 to Nancy Irwin, in Fort Worth, Texas and their journey lasted 62 years. Henry retired from the Fort Worth Fire Department and went on to try new things at numerous part-time jobs. He enjoyed traveling, remodeling homes, and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Henry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John S. and Lillie Bell Jones; his daughter, Janett (Jones) Holloway; and his brother, Jerry Jones.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of over 62 years, Nancy Jones of Newark; his daughter, Glenda (Jones) Pirie; his son, Robert Jones and wife Ginger; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
