Alvord: Herbert Vernon Forman, Jr., 85, was surrounded by his family and an abundance of love when he left this life and entered eternal life in Heaven on Monday, September 10, 2012 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 12th at First Baptist Church of Alvord with Rev. Bill Cleveland officiating. Interment: Alvord Cemetery. Pallbearers include Chris Forman, Steve Foreman, Jacob Yale, Eddie Goodwin, Daniel Tucker and Joe Dickerson.
Herbert was born on September 2, 1927 in Petrolia, Texas to Herbert Vernon and Gladys (Herd) Forman, Sr. He was united in marriage to Claudia Faye Buchanan of Cleburne on January 25, 1951 in Sherman, Texas.
Herbert retired from Maddox Metal Works of Dallas, Texas as Manager of Inspections in 1993. He and his wife, Claudia, retired and moved to Alvord in April, 1993, where they enjoyed mostly each other's company but also gardening, camping trips and spoiling their grandchildren.
Herbert served in the U. S. Navy for 2 years and served as the Grandmaster at the Masonic Lodge in Alvord for 1 year. He had a huge circle of friends and never met a stranger.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Claudia Faye Forman of Alvord; son, Chris Forman of Alvord and Steve and wife Julie Forman of Weatherford; daughter, Leisa Newlin and husband Jimmy of Houston; 3 grandsons, Daniel Scott Tucker of Tulsa, David Randall Tucker of Houston and Jacob Paul Yale of Weatherford.
Herbert is preceded in death by his Mom and Dad and sister, Doris Pitts.
