Decatur: Herman E. Dicus, 84, of Decatur, died February 27, 2008, in Ft. Worth, Tx.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1st at the First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Rev. Ken May will officiate. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 on Friday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Herman was born August 16, 1923 in Weslaco, Texas, to Henry Warner and Bonnie Greer Dicus. He married Mary Nell Fortenberry on Nov 27, 1998 in Paradise, Texas. He was a graduate of East Texas State College in Commerce and retired from Poco Graphite as a Maintenance Supervisor.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Nell Dicus; son, Chuck Dicus and wife Cathy of Fayetteville, AR; 3 grandsons, Neal Dicus of Little Rock, AR, Jonathan Dicus of Nashville, TN and Charles Dicus of Studio City, CA.; niece, Betty Ann Ardoin of Meterie, LA., numerous other extended family members and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bonnie Dicus, sister, Christine Macom and stepfather, George Macom.
The family has requested that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Decatur, Texas.
