Decatur: Hollis W. Jones, 82, a longtime businessman and entrepreneur, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 17th at First Baptist Church of Decatur with Reverends Gene Smith and Ken May officiating. Interment: Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers include Lyndon Harvey, J. K. Miller, Ben Hill, Darrell McCandless, Scott Siegmund, Harold Westermier, Dr. Kelley Tibbels, Juan Martinez and Terry Johnson.
Hollis was born July 18, 1929 in Choctaw, Oklahoma to John Waymon and Mandy (Pool) Jones. He married Sue Roberts on August 10, 1973 in Lubbock, Texas. Hollis served in the United State Marine Corp.
Left behind to cherish his memory are wife of 38 years, Sue Roberts Jones of Decatur; four daughters, Amanda Harvey and husband, Chad of Decatur; Holly Hodges and husband, Leon of Keller; Patti North of Decatur, Penny Bowles and husband, Austin of Decatur; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Hollis is preceded in death by eight (8) brothers and sisters.
