In Loving Memory, Howard Lee Cannon was 78, when he went to be with our Lord on Saturday mid-morning July 01, 2023, at 11:44 am in Decatur, Texas where he was surrounded by his family.

Howard Lee Cannon was born on May 05, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri; was the fourth born to Noel William Cannon and Lola Leona Richardson Cannon.  Howard, his parents, and other siblings moved to Rockford, Illinois, where he grew up and raised his family.

Howard was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa, brother, and friend to many.  He left us all too soon.  He is and will be truly missed and loved by all his family and friends.

Howard was united in marriage to Alma Patricia Rose on September 07, 1963.  They have been married 59 years and were high school sweethearts.  They have known each other since they were about 9 years old from church.  They have 2 daughters, the oldest, Noelle Cannon with her fiancé Benjamin Hutchison of Gainesville, Missouri, and Andrea Cannon Gish with her husband Jason Gish and their family of Kalama, Washington.

Howard had 4 grandchildren, Heather Cannon with her fiancé Joel Binford of Gassville, Arkansas, Cameron Cannon of Kalama, Washington, Sabrina Gish Mansur with her husband Kyle Mansur of Kalama, Washington, and Tabitha Gish of Kalama, Washington, and 4 great-grandchildren, Kolton (also son) and Hunter Cannon (Heather’s sons of Gassville, Arkansas), and Emma and Katie Mansur (Sabrina’s daughters of Kalama, Washington).  His oldest brother, Charles Cannon of Ada, Oklahoma, oldest sister, Lavon Moran of Cleburne, Texas, middle sister, Margaret Jordan of Sunset, Texas, and younger brother Kenneth Cannon of Decatur, Texas, and many nieces, nephews with their families and many friends.

Howard and his family lived in Rockford, Illinois, moved to Puxico, Missouri, Rayne, Louisiana, Decatur, Texas, Renfrew, Pennsylvania, LaCenter, Washington and then retired to Wasola, Missouri.  Howard was self-employed as a machinist for many years in Illinois, in Missouri business owner, and then worked with graphite in Louisiana, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Washington.  In Missouri, he retired as a realtor.  He enjoyed spending time with his wife, family, and grand and great-grandchildren, going to car shows, working on his antique cars, going to barn/estate sales, teaching his great-grandsons to fish, and loved cooking.

Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Patricia Rose Cannon, his son Eric Lee Cannon, his parents, Noel and Lola Cannon, his youngest brother, Glen Cannon, his great-grandson, Brighton Eric Gish, and his in-laws Lehman and Alma Rose.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11 am at Oak Grove United Methodist Church located at 1925 Old Greenwood Rd, Decatur, Tx 76234,
