Howard D. Elliott

Boyd ~ Howard D. Elliott, 81, a retired painter, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Boyd.

Graveside service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Rev. Jerry Hood will officiate. Pallbearers include Chris Elliott, Chuck Bowen, Justin Garrett, Curtis White, Joshua Youngblood, and Paul Herod.

Howard was born on March 4, 1933 to Clarence and Cora (Russell) Elliott in Coleman County, Texas. He was united in marriage to Doris Smith on September 7, 1971 in Durant, Oklahoma. H.D. was a painter at Bell Helicopter. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved playing his fiddle with his family and friends.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Tommy Elliott, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Doris Elliott of Boyd; his daughters, Pam Carnes-Porter and husband Kelly of Boyd, Vicki Reeves and husband Keith of Azle, Jeanette Garrett and husband Randy of Boyd; his son, Danny Youngblood and wife Marilyn of Weatherford; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; his brother, Otis Elliott and wife Eva of Tolar; his sister, Ann Winsett and husband Dewayne of Godley; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
