Hubert O. Ray

Funeral is 1 p.m. Monday, December 10th at the Cindy Nichols Chapel,First Baptist Church of Denton with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Shaun Ray, Shane Ray, Cody Leake, Derek Ray, Kristen Basher, Kyle Ray, Ty Boyer, Carlton Leake, Brandi Ray, Alex Ray, Lauren Boyer and Halle Brecht.

Mr. Ray was born October 5, 1924 in Burleson County, Texas to Ollie and Imogene Elizabeth (Griffin) Ray. He attended Decatur Baptist College and Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Mr. Ray served in the U. S. Army during WWII.

Mr. Ray was minister for over 60 years and was former minister at Center Point Baptist Church in Denton. He was also the crossing guard and granddad to many at Ginnings Elementary in Denton for over 12 years.

Left behind to cherish his memory is wife, Dorothy Ray of Denton; three sons, Ronald Ray, David L. Ray and wife Karen, Richard Ray and wife Rebecca; daughter, Pam Leake and husband Ray all of Denton and daughter, Kim Brecht and husband Chris of Krum; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lola Pevehouse of Rockdale, Texas, Marie Curtis of Houston; and his extended family and friends at Denton Rehabilitation & Nursing; other family members and a host of friends.

Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Preston Ray and sister, Fay Key.
