Durango, Mexico~ Ignacio Acevedo Carbajal, 73, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday September 15, 2020 in Durango, Mexico.
Mass of Christian burial for Ignacio Acevedo Carbajal, 73, of Mexico, is 10:00 a.m. Saturday at The Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Pilot Point. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon and Sunday before the graveside at 5883 Smiley Road, Celina, Texas 75009. Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Thomas Cemetery in Bridgeport.
Ignacio was born on July 31, 1947 to Daniel Acevedo and Josefina Carbajal in Zacatecas, Mexico. He was united in marriage to Teresa Vera in March of 1969. Ignacio loved working off his land, attending to his cattle which he was devoted to 24/7, 365 days a year right up to his final moments. Ignacio had a strong love for music and enjoyed hanging out with the band, especially in the early years of adulthood. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Acevedo and Josefina Carbajal; his 3 early children; his sister; and his son-in-law, Florencio Santoyo.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years Teresa Vera; his children, Maria Santoyo, Norma Acevedo, Guadalupe Acevedo, Juan Acevedo, Angelica Acevedo and Jerman Acevedo; Nineteen grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, his 3 siblings, numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends. Ignacio leaves behind a legacy that no one will ever forget and he will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
