Ima Ruth (Cooper) Sherman

Decatur ~ Ima Ruth Sherman, 80, went to be with our Lord Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Fort Worth.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Dr. Van Gardner and Rev. Ron Fox will officiate. Pallbearers include Thurman Tarver, Archie Cooper, Robert Rhine, Darrell Rhine, Randy Sherman, and Scott Sherman.

Ima was born on May 29, 1938 to Cecil and Alba (Loter) Cooper in Slidell, Texas. Ima retired as a cashier. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Cleo, A.B. “Son”, Douglas Ray, Johnny and Kenneth “Sug”; her sisters, Eunice, Nova, and Reta.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, David “Coon” Sherman of Decatur; her sisters, Bobbie Rhine of Decatur and Veda Sherman of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
