Rhome: Irene Willbanks, 83, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in Rhome, Texas.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, December 27th at Aurora Baptist Church, Aurora, Texas, with Dr. Kevin Peacock and Dr. Robert Worley officiating. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Interment will follow the service at Boyd Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Brett Butler, Jeff Herring, Zachary Herring, Jason Harrell, Blaine Willbanks, and Jeremy Goodger.
Irene was born May 7, 1925 to Chris Warner and Willie Mae (Wright) Shay. She married William Zack "Doc" Willbanks, Jr. October 24, 1942 in Warren, Arizona and was married 50 years at his death on March 1, 1993. Irene is also preceded in death by her sister, Christine Dominguez.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Susie Butler of Decatur; sons, Danny Willbanks of Rhome, Mike Willbanks of Boyd; seven grandchildren, Lisa Herring and husband, Jeff, Brett Butler and wife, Rebecca, Christy Harrell and husband, Jason, Whitney Willbanks, Marianne Willbanks, Blaine Willbanks, Jeremy Goodger and wife, Patti; eight great grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Bowers of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
