Ismael Martinez Ramirez, Sr.

Bowie ~ Ismael Martinez Ramirez, Sr., 62, went to be with our Lord Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Fort Worth.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Father Prakash Dias will officiate. Pallbearers include Ismael Martinez, Jr., Luis Ordoñez, Jaime Jaraleño, J.J. Jaraleño, Jaime Sauz, and Ethan Snow. Honorary pallbearer is Saul Martinez.

Ismael was born on May 20, 1957 to Angel and Maria de la Luz (Ramirez) Martinez in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico. He was united in marriage to Maria Adela Galaviz in June 1978 in Costa Rica, Sinaloa, Mexico. Ismael was a Heavy Equipment Operator for ARCOSA, Inc, and a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jose and Angel Martinez; and granddaughter, Gabriella Michelle Martinez.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Maria Adela Martinez of Bowie; 4 daughters, Consuelo Ordoñez and husband Luis of Denton, Maria Jaraleño and husband Jaime of Bowie, Sandra Sauz and husband Jaime of Lewisville, and Adela Martinez and husband Ethan Snow of Burkburnett; his son, Ismael “Ish” Martinez, Jr. and wife Vanessa of Fort Worth; 16 grandchildren, Jenny Lira, J.J., Eric and Anthony Jaraleño, Jazmin, Fabian, Briana, and Jorge Julian Sauz, Alyssa Lynn, Raelyn Luz, and Julian Ely Snow, Ethan and Emma Michael, Giancarlo Ismael, Eliana Jadele, and Gabriel Santana Martinez; his brothers, Antonio, Ruben, Joel, Saul, and Miguel Martinez; his sisters, Maria Dolores, Maria de Los Angeles, Maria de Jesus, and Olga Martinez; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
