Decatur: J. H. Carr, 91, a retired farmer/dairyman, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, March 1, 2012 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3rd in Oaklawn Cemetery with Dr. Bill Hughes officiating. Family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
J. H. was born July 25, 1920 in Decatur, Texas to Gilbert and Annie Frankie (Spain) Carr. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur.
Left behind to cherish his memory are two daughters, Jayanna Kelly of San Antonio and Sonia Lee and husband Dennis of Decatur; 4 grandchildren, Michael Petitt, Jay Kelly, Stephanie Avance, and Christopher Lee; 4 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, and Jameson Pettit and Jackson Kelly.
