BRIDGEPORT: J. L. "Hoss" Fitzgerald, a retired farmer and employee at Meeks Hardware went to be with our Lord, December 31, 2008 in Bridgeport.
Funeral: 2 PM Monday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Wilson Prairie Cemetery. Visitation: 4-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Bro. Roger Rhodes and Bro. James Mike McDonald will officiate.
Pallbearers: Darrell Harris, Joe Harris, Sr., Joe Harris, Jr., Shane Harris, Landon Harris, Justin Harris, Colton Harris, Chad Cooper and Chip Cooper.
Hoss was born June 10, 1922 to Joseph Luther and Callie Crawford Fitzgerald in Cottondale, Texas. He married Ollie Dell King on March 21, 1949 in Jacksboro, Texas. Hoss was a member of the Cates Street Church of Christ in Bridgeport.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his sister, Pauline Shannon of Paradise; grandchildren, Derrell Harris and his wife Ramona, Joe Harris and Shane Harris; great grandchildren, Landon Harris, Justin Harris, Joe Harris, Jr. and Colton Harris; 4 great great grandchildren; his niece he raised as a daughter, Lorenella Cooper and her husband Doug of Decatur; several nieces, nephews and cousins; other relatives and a host of friends.
