ALVORD: J. W. Stricklin, 88, a rancher/farmer went home to be with our Lord, Tuesday, August 21, 2007 in Bridgeport, Texas. FUNERAL: 11:00 A.M. Thursday , August 23, 2007 at Living Word Assembly of God Church in Alvord with Rev. James Cox to officiate. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery in Morton, Texas. VISITATION: Will be Wednesday, August 22, 2007 from 6-8 P.M. at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

John William was born June, 1, 1919 in Van Zandt Co., Texas to Audie Stricklin and Willie Mae Wilkerson. He married Katherene Parrish on March 14, 1941 in Dallas, Texas. J. W. was a member of the Living Word Asembly of God Church and the Quarter Horse Association. He is preceded in death by his parents, Audie and Willie Mae Stricklin, 2 sons, Johnny and Edwin Stricklin, 1 sister, and 1 brother.

SURVIVORS: Include his wife of 66 years, Katherene Stricklin of Alvord, Texas, son Tommy Stricklin of Alvord, Texas, daughter Lyndia Alexander of Morton, Texas, sister Jean Jones of Weatherford, Texas, brother Elsford Stricklin of Slayton, Texas, sister Lylene Lectral of Duncanville, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends!
