Jack was devoted husband to Barbara, his wife of 62 years.

Jack was a Navy Korean War Era Veteran

Jack was a Mason, and a Charter Member of the Bruce Lodge in Cedar Rapids Iowa

Jack was a Mechanical Engineer in Air conditioning and Refrigeration.  He was part of the team which designed the original Amana Radar Range Oven.

Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Jack’s love of the outdoors extended from North America to New Zealand.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife Barbara A Brookhouse, his three children, Patricia Gentry and husband Stephen Gentry, Brian J. Brookhouse, Marion E. Griffin and husband Lane Griffin.  Jack is also survived by his grandchildren, William Gentry, Megan Wells, Ashley Powell and her husband Ryan Powell, Lauren Dodd and her husband Michael Dodd.  Jack is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Maycee Wells and Lawson Dodd. Also his sister, Diane Cabot.

A memorial Service will be held at Hawkins Funeral Home, 405 E Main, Decatur, Texas on Friday December 15, 2023 at 1pm
