Jack Lee Crump

Decatur ~ Jack Crump, 85, a retired vice president, went to be with our Lord Friday, December 18, 2015 in Decatur.

Private Services will be held Monday, December 21st.

Jack was born on May 2, 1930 to Jasper and Katie (Brewer) Crump in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Sandra Brown on July 22, 1975 in Fort Worth.  Jack is a descendant of Dr. J.G. Crump and Professor TF Hughes, two of the town foundering fathers of St. Jo. He served as an altar boy in the 1940’s for St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fort Worth. He played basketball in 1947 when his team Paschal High School won District 7AA basketball Champions.  In 1948 Jack graduated from Lanari Catholic High School.  He attended St. Edwards and Texas Christian University in 1949. In 1950 Jack attended Allen Military Academy in Bryan, Texas.  Jack became Vice President of The Crump Company in 1956.  He retired in 1980 to The Sanderosa in Jack County. In 1982 Jack and wife Sandy opened The Zoo video game room in Bowie and in 1984 opened Cue Rox in Decatur on the square.  Family moved from Jack County to Decatur in 1995.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bobbie Crump.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Sandra Crump of Decatur; his daughters, Jacqueline Ochs and husband Martin of Austin, and Jennifer Bailey and husband Daniel Bennett of Fort Worth; his sister, Marjorie Rogers of Pottsboro, his granddaughters, Ashley Howard, and Jessica Ochs-Wheat; his great grandsons, Matthew, Stone, Carson, and Max; 3 nieces, 4 nephews, and a host of friends.

We would like to thank the employees of Solaris Hospice for the excellent care and compassion, Wise Regional Health System and the North Texas Cancer Center of Wise.  We would also like to thank Dr. Doubrava and his staff.
