Jackie Dale Burris

Tecumseh, OK ~ Jackie Dale Burris, 73, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, August 20, 2019 in Oklahoma City.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Cumby Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Rev. Gary Dimmitt will officiate. Pallbearers include Les Cooper, Gage Cooper, Ben Begley, Chuck Whatley, Ken Sutton, and Jeff Vogelbacher Sr.

Jackie was born on November 6, 1945 to Arnold Nolan and Pauline (Kuykendall) Burris in Alvord. He was united in marriage to Linda Darlene Whatley on December 28, 1965 in Decatur. Jackie proudly served in the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Burris; his daughter, Karen Marie Burris; his granddaughter, Alona Burris; his brother, Ricky Lee Burris; and his sister, Lorana Burris.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Belinda Burris of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Travis Burris, Cory Burris, Justin Burris, Cayla Burris, Clarisa Burris, and Krystal Carter; his great- grandchildren, Nalah Nail, Tristain Hause, Miriacle Burris, and Rylan Burris; his 2 brothers, Ray Burris and wife Pam of Fort Worth, and Charles Burris of Fort Worth; his 2 sisters, Sandra Powers of Azle, and Juanita Green and husband Dan of Jermyn; extended family and a host of friends.
